Inspiring the Next Generation of Flight & Space

At 42 NORTH AERO we believe the future of aviation and aerospace begins with curiosity—and grows through hands-on experience.

We are a Northern Illinois nonprofit dedicated to introducing young people to the possibilities of flight, space exploration, and emerging technologies. By connecting students with real-world projects, industry professionals, and exciting career pathways, we turn learning into discovery and inspiration into opportunity.

Our mission is simple: Give students the opportunity to dream big, build something extraordinary, and discover where their talents can take them.

42 North Aero is a nonprofit organization bringing students, educators, and aviation and aerospace professionals together to inspire the next generation of innovators.

We make STEM education exciting through hands-on experiences—from designing and building aircraft to launching rockets, exploring aerospace technologies, and discovering careers in aviation and space.

Curious young minds who want to explore, experiment, and discover. We welcome students of all backgrounds and experience levels. No previous knowledge of aviation or aerospace is required.

Based in Northern Illinois, we serve students and communities across the region, from Lake County to Rockford and beyond.

The aviation and aerospace industries need the next generation of thinkers, builders, and problem-solvers. By giving young people opportunities to learn from professionals and tackle real-world challenges, we help them develop confidence, practical skills, and a vision for their future.

Because the next great aviation or space innovator could be a student right here in Northern Illinois.
